wanacustomx Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 im new to the forum. ive seen the dd-1 and cc-1, thought they were really cool and wondering if they were really worth the money. after looking them up and seeing the uses for them i figured since i wanted to strap amplifiers that would be a great idea to get them both. also on topic i wanna build my new amplifier wall with a VU-DIN built in. im not exactly sure how durable these VU-DIN's are. im also not sure on how i would mount it. if i go all out on this wall and delete my amp rack (which is the plan) its gonna have nice lit up plexiglass and stuff. so im guessing i could just mount it behind the second piece of mdf and have holes cut out only to see the two led meters. not sure how to mount it or how durable it would be, would be nice if they came with a cover for the back. im worried about it getting ruint by dust or something hitting it behind.
kingsuv Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 Being an owner of both a very nice and (very expensive) scope as well as the dd1 and cc1 I can tell you it is worth the investment. I think for the price, if you are only going to set up one amp in your life, it's nice to have the right tools. I have plenty of other tools that i hardly ever use, but when you need it, there is only one tool for the job. Even with a wall, i would find it difficult to believe that a Vu-din wouldn't hold up. I would say you will have no problems adding one to your system and be very happy with it's performance Designing, building, and shipping boxes. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.

wanacustomx Posted May 2, 2012 Author Report Posted May 2, 2012 yeah i figured even if i used it for my amp, and maybe a few friends, it'd get its use over time. as for the vu-din, can i use one mids&highs amp for the left channel(one led meter) and use the right channel (the other led meter) for a monoblock. thats what im concerned about that, i really dont wanna have to buy two of them. and as in "wall" i just mean, just a amp rack really, just wrapped in carpet or vinyl. not an actual walled setup. wish i could draw a picture. its be easy to understand.
