G-Rad
I wouldn't call this a build but it's definitely a good start. Let me know what you guys think. I've yet to determine the actual tuning of the box, because the ports are actually PVC tubing and I decided to change them just today, so it's actually louder than the video you'll see at the end of this post. Here's the head unit and volt meter. Head Unit: Kenwood KDC-516S Here's the sub amp, for now. Plan to upgrade it and use this for the mids and highs until it gets upgraded to a 5 ch, so I can use my midbass. Amp: Sony Xplod XM-1902GX Here's the crossover unit that I got from a friend. Not bad for free, but I know there's better. Crossover: Legacy LXR-2A Here's their location. Well hidden when the seat's up and usable. Also the amp doesn't get hot. It has breathing room behind the seat flap. Factory Woofer, to be upgraded for midbass when I get the 5ch amp (hidden behind panel on passenger side in hatch). The MTX MXS-1204 Sub Sub Enclosure (modified prefab with PVC ports LOL! Sounds better) Yeah, Sub in hatch. Plenty of room for improvement, and you can see the flap I'm talking about, hiding the amp. G-Rad
A start indeed. Which is why I hope to get my Crossfire going soon. Extreme budgeting is HUGE for me, simply because I'm saving literally nickels and dimes for gear. The Kickers were in the door when I got my hands on the truck, and it had an aftermarket radio that got stolen, so I just found that laying around to replace it. I may not have money, but I have determination.
