AB18VFL Posted May 21, 2012 Report Posted May 21, 2012 bout a month ago, i got a pair of Rockford components. people were telling me about how they were "junk" but i ignored them because i have never had bad luck with any fosgate product. Sure enough, last week when I was doing SPL testing, bass started shredding through my tweeters, making disgusting fucking popping and crackling noises. Now they just cut in and out and its super annoying. Im guessing rockfords "concealed crossovers" are just some crappy bass blockers. The rockford midbass driver sound fine, so i'd like to keep them, but i need to fully understand how components work before I grab bullet tweets. I have a pair of boston crossovers in my basement that I plan on using. The package for my components says the impedence is 4 ohms. does that mean i have an 8 ohm midrange and an 8 ohm tweeter running at a nominal 4 ohm load? or is each driver 4 ohms? im a noob when it comes to mids and highs, so please bear with me haha. any help is appreciated!
