HarrisonGrayLetchworth Posted May 21, 2012 Report Posted May 21, 2012 My very limited knowledge on line drivers is they boost your RCA voltage so the amp does not have to do all the hard work. I am pulling signal off my stock bose deck, I can only immagine they use the lowest voltage possible going to the amp. Something around 2v, not sure how to test. My question is; how much of a differnce would a line driver make on a system going from 2v to say around 8v ( max input on my AQ1200d ) Also, who makes a decent product. I'd get the RF line driver, but it seems its lowest output is 11v. CLNSHVNnDRAGGN Posted May 21, 2012 Report Posted May 21, 2012 I've only used AudioControl drivers and I always unplug the outputs on the line driver, turn my h/u volume up as high as I will ever go (usually about 75% of max), turn up the gain on the line driver until I get the lights on at the voltage I want. Shut it all off, plug back in the rca's on the line driver output, then adjust my amp gain from there. With the AudioControl Matrix and Overdrives that I've used my amp gains never go past 1/3-1/2 way.
