rockFord_Expedition
Building a ported box for 2 Fosgate Punch HX2 15's... In the manual it calls for 2.5ft3 per sub as well as a 4" in diameter by 8" long port. Manual also says the Fs of the sub is 22Hz and an fb of 35Hz. I really like the look of a slotted port over that of a round port, so I want to incorporate this but I want to do it right the first time. Since these two subs will be in a common chamber, and I want to go slotted instead of round, would I be doing right by just making a slotted port that has double the volume of the recommended per sub round port? Or is it not that simple? Is there anything to gain spl or sq wise by using slotted over round (assuming that they are both done right)? CleanSierra
I'd prefer to do a slot port since you CLEARLY have the room. I suggest(as others may) searching this forum for the Torres box tuning calculator. It's pretty user friendly, and you can sort of plug and play different numbers for dimensions on boxes. It's stickied in the Enclosures tab Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
