If so, it will not receive sufficient power if you don't feed it at least (approx) 50W RMS meaning a head unit won't cut it. It needs an amp, and many will have a HPF (even many decks have them) which will be adjustable and more effective than the "bass blocker" Edit: Just looked at the specs on your H.U. according to your "new setup" and it does have a hpf....
