KiKaZz74
here are the pics i took of the amp rack: you need to get back over here so we can finish those spheres. I know! U think sometime during the week I could come down?I've got some big plans for this in the spring if I can get the cash for it. I got some y adapters finally but they suck and will definitely get replaced. It helped the sound tho. KiKaZz74
Ok guys. Ive been thinking hard about this lately. This box sounds like shit and im tired of the rattles. More and more keep coming up. So my idea was to make a switch. Trade the 18 for a nice 15 or 12 like the Q or other of this area. More sq oriented. Im looking to trade my brz1700 and cash for a ct 1400 too. Id like part of my back seat back. So box on 2/3 of it behind driver seat most likely. Id like to get some deadener and better speakers. But everyone please give me ideas on possible subs and speakers. Hoping to get an agm and redo the wiring with skyhigh. Lemme know what u guys think. KiKaZz74
Rebuild is underway. This will focus on a mostly active 3way SQ setup. interior is stripped ATM. RCAs, Remote, and Bass Knob control were routed down the transmission hump and flattened and then ran down the middle of the truck. all speaker wire ran and routed to passenger side of the truck. will be getting some foil lined ultra touch padding to replace stock padding. felt will probably coat all panels to deaden. the goal is a 3-way active minus the tweeters with minimal processing. Final Equipment list: Headunit- Alpine CDE-147BT Mids/Highs Amp- JL Audio G6600 Class AB 6 Channel Sub Amp- Hifonics BRZ1700.1D @ 2 Ohms Sub- Hertz Hi Energy 12" HX300D Tweeters(if used)- Rockford Fosgate Power Series Silk Domes Mids- Dayton Audio Reference 4" Full Range Drivers Midbass- Silver Flute 6.5" should do pretty well in comps as this is what a good friend of mine ran and competed with for a while. KiKaZz74
Here you go guys. Build is finishing up. Needs to be tuned, time aligned, RTA ran on it, and metered. But the build is mostly done. It might be a while but things left to do are- Make a beauty panel to cover amps if needed, build a new box, put interior panels back in, put the 4" in and hook up wires that are ran. Build products to this point: Sky High Car Audio (Fuse Block w/ 175A fuse, 4ga OFC, 12ga OFC, and 16 ga CCA for Power/Ground, Sub wiring and from amp to crossovers, and speaker wiring that is ran but not hooked up yet) Kicker (Fuse Block and 200A fuse under hood, 1/0 Hyper Flex Silver Tinned OFC for main run of power and ground) Rockford Fosgate (2 of 1 1/0 in and 2 1/0 or 4ga out distribution blocks) MB Quart Reference Series 2 Way Passive Crossovers JL G6600 six channel amp Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700.1D @ 2 Ohms Alpine CDE-147BT Headunit Hertz Hi-Energy HX300.4D 12" dual 4 ohm Silver Flute 6.5" Alpine Tweets Insulmax Cellulose Insulation Ultra Touch Denim Insulation with Radiant Heat Barrier Onto the progress. First thing was to gut the truck Running wires Rcas down middle, speaker down pass side, power under truck driver side. whats going in the front doors for midbass/midrange The Headunit This was an after the fact thing. i got a spool of SHCA 16 ga in and decided i wanted everything matching. ran wires for 3 way. This is packed into that panel since it was just a wide open panel after i pulled the rears out. stuff full and it deadened it quite a bit both road noise and hollow sounding. it also is good insulation to keep truck cooler. Knock test to show the difference. they are quite solid now too.
