im not loud though imo, if i had to guess something like a 37-39 somewhere in the 30-40hz region

maybe you should splice the speaker outputs of the head unit into the rca plugs into your amp, thats a discovery i made that will get you louder.

Oh, i see, your'e one of those guys like we have at work, there are like 4 other people at work with systems, none have access to a dd-1 or o-scope, all have way more expensive subs and amps (but stock doors off the h/u) than me and everyone thinks their stuff is so bangin' . Pisses my off that i spend so much time tuning my e.q, xovers and made sure to set my gains proper with a dd-1. Double and triple checking my electrical connections and always looking to squeeze out those extra one or two db's while staying clean. Frustrates me so frakin much.

ill try it like that just to make you happy, but that way will drown out my mids and highs for sure (its the first way i tested it when i got the head unit), which is the only reason i went this way.

am i not achieving the same thing doing it my way? (serious question)

S/W level +5

H/U vol 32/35

amp gain at 65%

bass boost OFF

gain knob pointing at the L.

No, not at all.

You get the most output with the sub level all the way up (controls the pre out voltage)

Then set the gain to match that voltage.

And the fact more than one person agrees does not make it a circle jerk, it makes it a bukkake scene and you're in the middle ;)

Chick took 3 shots of Jager, and then, pissed in my mouth..

Sorry.. Was busy face palming myself.

Even my wife says you're an idiot.

I know for a fact you dont own a dd1. So quit fakin da funk.

Only reason you are getting away with it is because you have the sub level at5 on your deck.

Try this.

Deck at 31

Sub level on deck at max 15

Bass knob at max

Amp gain at 1/4 turn.

Bass boost off.

Now, tell me your way was any louder or any more control.

Dont even know why im still in this thread.

We all do it 1 way.. Cause its the correct way.

ill try it like that just to make you happy, but that way will drown out my mids and highs for sure (its the first way i tested it when i got the head unit), which is the only reason i went this way.

but you said you had the amp gain maxed

and bass knob at 3/4 of the way up earlier!?!

and it was WAY louder than before?

now your saying you havent done it yet?

hmm, the first time i hit the S/W past +7 the subs just sounded very bad.. sounded like they were being over driven, but like i said, ill give rays way a shot

so i went back to the amp after turning it off and turned the gain all the way up (no, its not all the way up on my bass knob (gain knob))

turned my system on and again, immediately realized that for about the 2 months ive had the amp i havent been at true full tilt.

O.O?
