Alpine Head Unit

Hey guys,

I am looking at getting a ALPINE CDE-HD137BT. The reviews I have found seem to make me think this is a promising head unit but I just wanted to see what you guys had to say about it. Buying a Clarion 7 Band Eq as well to run with it.

Can't go wrong with most any Alpine or high-end Pioneer. Do you need an EQ or just want one? I prefer running everything off my head unit, if I can.

That is what I was gathering, I have a mid range pioneer in a different car and I am not completely in love with it mainly because it does not have any station preset buttons along with have nothing built into it. I drive to and from college a lot which is 5 hours away so I would like to have hands free calling. I would rather have an EQ because I am more of a sound quality guy and would like to have control over my amps right at my figure tips.

I don't listen to the radio and do hands free calling via my aux port. I used to like having an EQ but later found it was less of a pain in the ass to use crossovers and pick a head unit with high voltage RCA outs. That's how I ended up with my Pioneer P7400-HD, I do love it, but miss my Alpines..

Awesome, Well I don't listen to the radio much but when I do I would like to have damn preset buttons... Just a petpeave of mine. If you think an EQ is a waste of time or just not the best way to go which crossovers do you prefer and I will look into seeing what will fit my needs.
