yUmadBro Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 Hey whats up everyone I'm new to SMD and plan to be posting more in the future, but for right now I've been looking for Mids to put in my 2001 Honda Accord. Right now I want to go with the Cadence set of 6. This will be my first time doing pods. Anyway I was wondering if someone could steer me the right away to attack the door panels? Well heres a picture of the panels in the front seat These are the backseat door panels These are the mids I'm looking into My question would be what's going to be the best way to approach this? I was thinking 2 mids in each door up front with one mid in each back doors. I'm just looking for a couple opinions on placement and the actual design of the door panels.
diatribe Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 I would worry about the front doors first. I bet once they are installed you won't care about the rears. I thing there would be very little or no effect installing in the rear doors. If you must have rear speaker, just use the rear deck.
87chevyboi Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 if you do 2 mids per door make sure you have the tweeter set right so it can be heard and go with the mids good. If i were you id put a set in the back because your going to be loud as hell up front but also are gonna need something for the back just not as loud so one set of components for the back doors should work. To start off cut you some mdf rings the size of the mids and tweeters, then figure out how you want them on the door. once you figure out what design placement you want then you need to figure out if your going to fiberglass them in your doors or just put them in there. If your going to fiberglass them then you want to figure out where you want the fiberglass to end and go buy some 1/2 inc or 7/16 in dowel rods, super glue, fleece and resin. Then place the mdf rings on the dowel rods you cut the length you want. After that pull the glass over them and start fiberglassing. Do about 2 or 3 coats of resin to make sure there strong. Then sand and bondo, if your gonna paint em they have to be damn near perfect, if your gonna wrap them then you can thro some bondo on them and get em semi perfect and quit cuz the cloth or vinyl you gonna use should have an 1/8th inch backing My build aka Snow White whats wrong with fat chicks? they are like mopeds, as long as your friends dont see you riding it, they are a blast! hahah I am dumb as a stump. yUmadBro Posted June 4, 2012 Author Report Posted June 4, 2012 it would be nice to just set them in the doors but due to the layout of the panels i dont see that happening. their too oddly shaped i think. i'm going to order the set of 6 cadences this week. then i think i have alot of planning and organizing to do.
