Joe Golsan Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 http://img9.imagesha...22/speaker2.png it will house a Kicker CVR 12, and when I actually put it together I'm going to double the length of the top, bottom, front and back pieces, and make it a dual chamber box for 2 CVR 12's. Feel free to give me suggestions and criticize my design. I am limited to a maximum height of 15 inches (to fit through my trunk) and a maximum width of 38 inches (meaning 18.375 inches for each side), and that would be touching the sides (wheel wells) of my trunk.
john253a Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 Port is a bit small other then that not to bad (aim for 14-15cuft per ft) Size is ok if you only running recomemend power, but 1.7-2net is ok If you have good mids tune it a bit lower 32-33, if not 35hz is ok Can't help much other then that as um mobile,

I'm actually running a bit less right now because i blew my amp that was powering them. also will anything negative come from leaving the port the size it is? I don't really have room to go bigger
john253a Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 tried to keep it simple, and easy to build space is good for 400rms each or 800rms combined 2.15cuft net each @33hz
Joe Golsan Posted June 6, 2012 Author Report Posted June 6, 2012 what I think i'm going to do now is build two of the same boxes so I can get them in my trunk easier.. how does this new design look? Also, what are the negatives of having too small of a port if it's still tuned the same freq?
Joe Golsan Posted June 12, 2012 Author Report Posted June 12, 2012 are you sure thats right? i put the measurements into the calculator and it either said the tuning was off or the box volume was more than 2.25 cu ft
Joe Golsan Posted June 17, 2012 Author Report Posted June 17, 2012 i added 3 3/4" to the port size in the picture and the box came out excellent.. It is extremely loud. one sub is louder than two were in my sealed box at 400 watts RMS each
