Riley Evan Houser
I will be running a Soundstream TX1.2000D and a JL Audio JX360/4.. My JL is pushing around 50x4. The Soundstream will be pushing 1500 on 1 ohm. I have a 2004 Pontiac Bonneville with a stock 140 amp alternator. Would I be okay? Thanks

Colin - STAPUFT
Worth a try. Getcha a good under hood battery. You might have to add another one in the trunk though... Riley Evan Houser
What battery would you recommend? My battery isn't stock now but I can't honestly say what it is..can't remeber. If i added another battery wouldn't that meant that the alternator would be trying to charge two and cause more stress?
purplesyrup
I've ran around 2k in the past, stock alternator, extra battery in the trunk, with no problems. Now, not to leave out the fact that you will experience voltage drop which will keep your amps from being capable of they're full output. In fact, never had to replace and alternator on the grand am and always had an extra battery and around 2k hooked up to it, had the car for 8 years Edited June 21, 2012 by purplesyrup
