str86diesel
Most HID sets are kits, so typically you mount the ballast in the engine bay somewhere and then replace the bulbs. As long as you can swap bulbs in that enclosure, I don't see it being a problem. Quote 2k6 Dodge Ram 2500...CUMMINS POWERED - SOLD

Amalan
make sure you get a d2r bulb not a d2s. the d2r bulbs are meant for reflector housings because it will not scatter the light everywhere and blind people. only use a d2s bulb in a projector housing. Jextel
it will but keep in mind you will lose you high beams unless you get a bi-xenon kit i wonder what bi-xenon kit will look like because HID looks like high beams at all times anyway.. gremlin
thats true....blind you EVEN more... if you were to get a d2r you would have to rebase the housing or bulb i forget..it would definately help but be alot of work... gremlin
i understand that but a d2r bulb or "capsule" wont just simply fit into the 9007 housing. look at how the bottom of the bulb is. compare that to this: where it is held on by the housing itself is completely different. so if a d2r were to work, you would need to rebase the bottom or base to fit the 9007 housing Quote current set-up: headunit: kenwood excelon kdc-x891 mids: front: mb quart reference 6.5s rear: pioneer TSA941 6x9 mid and high amp: performance technique ICBM-773 sub amp: kicker 08zx2500.1 subs: (2) 08s15l7d2 4.25 cubic foot sealed box big 3 all in hooker 1/0 wiring Sacrifice your car to the Audio Gods and DBs will come. Amalan
yeah you just get a d2r 9007 bulb for reflector housing and d2s 9007 bulb for projector. i dont think ive seen a conversion kit that just gives you the bulb without the base. you specify which bulb/base/temp you want when you buy a kit.
