Hi i have a honda civic type r (ep3)

4awg RF wiring from standard battery

In the front i have Focal 165v30 Limited edition on a Alpine MRV F409

in the rear i have Kicker R4

Sub RF Punch HX2 12" on a 150hd

All this is running from a alpine 9835r

My question is the system plays fine and sub is hitting quite hard for a older sub. Mid and highs are clean sounding. When the system has been on for a while it starts to sound muddy and the highs are distorted and lights dim

Some have said that hondas are not too good for systems as the stock alternator wiring can not take it would upgrading the big 3 make a big difference to this system. previous to this i had a mk4 golf with the same system and it sounded much better.

Any help would be appreciated

I had an old school ADS PQ10 amp that would do that in my old 95 GT, 130 amp alt, useing a JL 10w1 for subs and my crystal cse 5 1/4" components. not a whole ot of current draw but after 10 mins at med to high volumes it would get muddy and sound slightly distorted. Not sure why. Swapped it out for my Lanzar Optidrive 50 and it quit doing it. Maybe the output stage on the amp was dieing?
