Theory Question on upgrading power

Recommended Posts

then id say your pretty well set for now....im doing the big 3 in a few weeks, then starting to save for a 15 i can run at one ohm, since I'm running my 2 12s at a 2 ohm final load at the amp currently, may work on designing some amp racks if i can find time over the weekends...sucks having all my free time being on the weekends, just glad its looking like it may start cooling off.

woman..cant live with em...cant shoot em...guess were all fucked

You might be a Redneck if you use your leftover gutters for a speaker box port...

YOU JUST LOST THE GAMER.I.P. Blazer=========================Last setup was in the 141s on music (37hz) with 2 12s and 1kw in a 4dr blazer.2010 Mitsubishi Lancer DE2 12in Clarions (kept from blazer)HiFonics BRZ1700.1d (at 2 ohms BLOWN) [JBL GTS180X for subs currently 60wRMS x2ch!!!!!! This works for till i get the blown amp fixed] Alpine 4ch salvaged from blazer (currently near death)9887 peerless 7s in the doors and CDT tweeters ran active no speakers in the rearKintik HC1400 under the hood.metered once a while ago, dont remember it...was piss poor compared to the blazer, mid 130s i think....looking to replace subs and amp when i have money.

i was talking power wise. My blazer was at 141-142@37Hz, haven't been able to get my lancer NEAR that....and since I'm in school all the damn time, don't have the time to make the money needed to get it up there. Really wanting to try around with a few things, but not sure how they will turn out.

One thing i see is of course you are at 2ohm now and you will be doubling power and going down to 1 ohm. That's going to be a whole lot more electrical. if you are seeing 13.5 now i am guessing you will probably see low 12's. But the cool thing is with 1 ohm loads is whatever box rise you have now it will be less of an issue i guess.

im expecting low 12s, nothing new for me

it should be like infinitely louder, because right now its just stupid quiet, i mean for petes sake their DD 95's they should be slapping. guess the power theyre on is below that point of making them do what they do.

I just went from 2ohm to 1ohm too so i feel ya. I noticed playing some b-legit today i dropped to low 12's, but normally stay at 13.5 with "normal" music. Guess we both need a better alt. Put up a video of before and after. I want to see differences in stuff like windshield flex and some in car stuff. Etc. etc.
