AMI CUSTOMS
So my local stereo shop tells me I need all new batteries when using them together. For example, if I were running only one spare batt it would be ok that it was a used battery. However when doing multiple batteries they say you must use all new batteries so they don't draw down from one another?? I'm confused because as far as I know no two batteries are going to have the exact same voltage. So what is the difference if they are new as long as they all are good? IT IS TRUE. But don't worry about it. And I hate when people think it is possible for a battery to rest at 13.1v. Any battery that reads 13.1 volts obviously still has a float charge from being charged with an alternator. Highest open circuit voltage possible is 12.80 volts after sitting for 24 hours and usually 12.7+ indicates a full charge Couldn't be further from the truth, I have pics of my Batcap batteries, 2 different models that when shipped to me, I opened the boxes took them out and put a volt meter on them. It took 3 days for them to get to me so even if they were charged prior to shipping that is at least 72 hours with nothing on them. Resting voltage as following straight out of the box. Batcap 3000 - 12.97 volts Batcap 4000 - 12.95 volts Quote TEAM SOUNDQUBED -- TEAM SOUTH TEAM S.O.B. - Founder & Captain 3x Streetbeat World Record Holder 2017 MWSPL 1st place Mayhem & 4th Xtreme 4 2016 MWSPL 1st place Mayhem/2nd Adv 4/2nd Xtreme 4 2015 MWSPL 2nd place Mayhem & 4th Xtreme 4 2014 USACI 2nd place Streetbeat 5 - 162.6 db 2014 MWSPL 2nd place Xtreme 4 - 144.9 db 2013 USACI 1st place Streetbeat 4 - 161.9 db 2013 USACI 1st place Street Q+ - 162.8 db 2013 MWSPL 3rd Kaos2 & 4th Xtreme 4 2011 USACI 2nd place MOD 1001-2k - 160.0 db 2011 MWSPL 4th place: Adv3 - 157.8 db, Kaos2 - 150s db, Xtreme4 - 140s db 2010 ARSPL 1st place 501-750 - 160.3 db Arkansas loudest Best score to date 164.4 db - Termlab Outlaw Streetbeat 4 - 161.9 db Streetbeat 5 - 162.6 db MWSPL on Dash Legal door open (Music) - 162.5 db Sealed on dash Legal (Music) - 161.1 db - Termlab THE BLACK NASTY CURRENT BUILD & FAB The Black Nasty (6) 15 Rebuild Log 2012 (4) 15 Walled Sierra Build Log Evo X build log Facebook page The Black Nasty
Tim Lam
man, damn these local shops. where do they hire these fools? probably just trying to sell you some of their batteries. but if they've all been treated right(like none of them have died before or anything like that) you should be all good. Akslowroller
 if you went to a shop and asked if they could install a pair of door speakers you already had (didnt buy from them) and they said no it must be a new purchase would you be fucking on here asking this. the hell is wrong with people cant see past a little slimeball sales scheme these days. And for simplicity sake yes as long as all your batterys are in working order and the same shit then you can run them new or used fuck do you people need to be bottle fed my bad grim didn't mean to screw up your forum. Next time I ask a question and you think it's dumb maybe you can tell me how you really feel. Get over it and thanks for your input.
Akslowroller
Thanks for all the input. They all have similar voltage so I should be good to go.
