ported box 10" sub

Hello SMD clan ...

I need some good input on purchasing a 10" sub

I have built a ported box for a single 10" sub tuned to 30hz

The box is 2.55 cuft but currently i am searching for sub that can play in a 2.55 cu ft

and sound great. At the moment i have 2 x 10" Alpine Type R's which i had in a sealed box

with only about .75 cuft per but could not stand the sound so i built the above box for a single sub (kept it simple).

I know the new version type R's that i have are not designed for a box this large as i can easily push the sub to the max excursion

and the voice coil starts to pop. Running a Rockford Power series T10001BD which i know is alot of power for that 10" but

I had this amp on an RE 18" in a 7 cuft box before this, sold the car so out came the box and sub, as i could not fit it in my Titan.

I have been looking at Image Dynamics / new Pro Series RE / FI BTL any others that someone could recommend

that will work in 2.55 cuft and sound great? Oh and not hit the max excursion at 1/3 volume !!

That's is a lot of airspace for any 10". To be able to handle a decent amount of power I wouldn't put a 10 in more than 1.5-1.75 cu. with your space recut the baffle sell both 10's and get a 12".

Dc neo 10..just cause the magnet/motor is huge & will take up a lot of that room

This is probably one of the only few 10's that doesn't mind a box that big

Though if it was me, I'd just turn the box in a 12' box, and find a sub that doesn't mind 2.5 cu ft like the SSA Gcon or something
