box for 2 mtx thunder 7000 15s

should i do 4th order or just make a ported box.....

for dimensions on torres box calc i came up with

18h by 24 w by 24d= 4.83 cubic feet

having trouble with port area...... dont know how much port i should need..... gunna be way underpowered for the time being til i can afford a new amp...... they will see about 300 rms and they are rated for 500 rms a piece per mtx

i want it tuned low cuz i like the low lows

My Low Budget Build:

Green 1995 Subaru Legacy wagon 147k- $1K

headunit- pioneer premier deh-p650-$25

4 Lead acid batts. 1 up front and 3 in back- vented outside.- $50

4 vvme L11 10"s <- $30 shipped a piece

6 cu. ft box (after displacment) tuned to 32ish hz with 10 inch sonotube. -about $50 all together maybe a lil more

2 aspm 1300 strapped

Selenium 6"s in the front doors on headunit power- for now -$20

quantum tweets in door-for now -$10

boston acoustic 5 1/4 in rear doors- for now-Free

big 3

1/0 and 4awg throughout.

roof sound deadened (not peel n seal ftw)-free

on 80 amp alt (bench tested to put out 100 amps faithfully) <--?-$10 for test

about $430 for everything<----Not bad at all

still gotta add 3 way crossover, amp for front and rear door speakers and maybe eq

I am a huge MTX fan of that circa and those woofers parameters no likey ported enclosures to much. I TRYED LOL.

Bandpass may be OK but, if you are willing to part with them let me know. LOL

they are the 8 ohm version unfortunatly and yes i got a pair of these today from a buddy on a good trade.

and Kranny i was thinkn the same thing..... to get an amp thatll do an actual 1000 watts rms @ 4 ohms is definitly gunna take some cash.....

i dont really wanna sell but if you got another pair of 15's that are worth it for me i might think about gettin rid of them

ouch the t7158....I don't even know why offered this configuration as the amps that were available at the time could not come close at 8ohms. If they were the 4 ohm version each I'd more than take them off your hands. Let me know a price via pm if you end up going another route.

ok so maybe a sealed box then lol..... but my question is..... can a sealed box be too big or small? like what if i wanted a 6 foot cubed sealed box? would it be louder?
