Krayzie Posted July 31, 2012 Report Share Posted July 31, 2012 From what I understand, these meters don't use a microphone to measure SPL as accurately as they do. Any microphone that I have seen can't really withstand the pressure levels exerted by most systems. I believe they use a method of measure pressure changes instead which apparently costs a lot more than most would expect. Without actually checking, that's what I have been able to tell.
