Migz
Just wondering if this would help much? I've only got a 70amp alt at the momment, and I've got 4 gauge with some 80 amp fuses, and the wire can easily take that. So would it help at all if I did the big 3 but in 4 gauge and not 0? LZTYBRN
As long as it's bigger than the factory wire it'll help.
Bump4life
how much power you running? you alt line will be fine being 4 gauge until you get a H/O alt. your grounds, the bigger the better. you will notice a difference in voltage by going to 0 gauge grounds, how much? idk i saw a .8 volt increase going from 4 gauge to 0 gauge OFC grounds. went from 13.3 to 14.1. if you are running under 1k 4 gauge will be fine for all of big 3 Buyer/Seller Feedback Thread: http://www.stevemead...5015-bump4life/ MB C220 153 Trunk Car Build Log: http://www.stevemead...d/#entry1840136 MB C280 Ipad Dash SQ Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194484-bump4lifes-new-benz-tony-c-relay-kit-pictures-ce-electric-audison-front-stage-installed/ My SPL Log: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 BMW M340 xDrive Stock, for now. Migz
Running about 1200. But really can't afford anymore 0 gauge just yet. And I've got all this 4 awg left over. May just do two runs of 4 awg on alt + to bat. Just noticed I posted this in the wrong section, sorry.
Bump4life
4 gauge will be better then stock most likely. adding wire never hurts Buyer/Seller Feedback Thread: http://www.stevemead...5015-bump4life/ MB C220 153 Trunk Car Build Log: http://www.stevemead...d/#entry1840136 MB C280 Ipad Dash SQ Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194484-bump4lifes-new-benz-tony-c-relay-kit-pictures-ce-electric-audison-front-stage-installed/ My SPL Log: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 BMW M340 xDrive Stock, for now. CleanSierra
As long as its OFC, it will carry the current. Max draw on an amp that pushes 1200 watts at 80% efficiency(which is being generous, its likely lower), and battery voltage of 14.4V, puts you at an amperage draw of 104 amps at full tilt. KNU Konceptz 4 gauge will allow 100A, so you'd probably be fine. I realize I'm talking about your POWER wire run, but even in your Big 3, you'd be ok with running I think. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
