15 or 18 inch Fi BL's for my setup?

Recommended Posts

MAYBE you'll be able to fit 15's. but the port is going to take up 1-1.5cuft of that. plus bracing displacement. plus woofers. plus the extra baffle.

you want spl? then tune your box to 55hz and play a milli or 6 foot 7 foot all day long

edit: how do you know if the port size is adequate? or that the tuning is to your liking? or that the box is structurally strong?

The number 7.5 is after port displacement, calculated for .75 mdf, and also after the 2, 2x4's I installed for extra support. I checked everything when building the box. It's exactly 7.512 before sub displacement. It's tuned to 31.4hz, I had 2 15 inch Mojo's that were 2500rms each in it and loved it. I just got a great offer on the Mojo's to the point I can get two brand new Fi BL's and have extra cash for wiring.

Yes one Kicker zx2500.1 pushing around 3000rms @ 2ohm with my system. The box is 7.512 cube after all displacements BESIDES subs. Now that size depends on which subs I get :P
