Holcomb
Instead of using deadener, why couldnt one just place psheets of wood around the rear of the trunk and make angling pieces toward the cabin? Basically forming a 3/4 box on the inside of your trunk? Therefore all air would hit the wood and not lose pressure or loudness do to sound waves hitting the trunk and escaping thru the carpet lining the sides of the trunk? Sonic
How about sealing off the trunk, i.e. firing sub and port into cabin? Would be much more easier if it would work in your application and fit your goal. Edited July 27, 2012 by Sonic
Holcomb
My goal is to increase cabin pressure and not lose the sound waves that hit the trunk lid and sides of the trunk. Would doing this be considered making a bandpass enclosure? Ddub847
well firing into your trunk is a bandpass enclosure. its just your trunk acts like the box for it.
Holcomb
Ok, well then what I'd basically be doing is lining the trunk wth wood do lessen flex and make it more solid Quote My build: 2007 Pontiac G6 GTP 2 Rockford Fosgate P2D412 in a competition box 2 Rockford P300.1 (bass) Pioneer mids and highs amp Kenwood DDX-418 6.1" touchscreen head Big 3 upgrade interior LEDs and Strobe lights Black Spyder halo projector headlights Remin Carbonfiber dash kit www.youtube.com/fluentsarcasm1

stroupe79
sounds like he was saying he has subs firing up into the trunk lid My goal is to increase cabin pressure and not lose the sound waves that hit the trunk lid and sides of the trunk. mrd6
If you built it strong enough it would do what you are thinking and more or less behave like a 6th order. The gains however may not be worth the hassle imo. Quote My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
Holcomb
Okay but what kinda gains are we talking? More flex? More air movement ? More DBS?
