so guys i have my crescendo PWX-8 mids and i wanna build .6 cubic foot door pods for them i already have the bottom layer of fiberglass done just need to do the speaker ring and top part of the pod. do you think this speaker will run well in a .6 cube sealed pod with a high pass filter at 70 Hz getting 125 w rms..

also i have another question too i wanna run one 8" mid in each door, one 6.5" mid in each front kick panel, one 6.5" mid in each rear door, and two crescendo super tweeters in each front door. ran on two alpine v12 MRV-f545 4 channel amps. would this be enough to keep up with a crescendo BC2000 with two alpine type r 15's in a 9 cube box tuned to Hz??

thanks for any and all input

i am running the high pass filter on my amp at 70 hz and all of the rest of the tuning will be done on my alpine cda-9887 head unit with imprint software. i just wanted to make sure that, that amount of mids and highs on that power would be sufficient..

  • i do have one worry though guys this pod the more i build it is getting ellevated a little more which means theres gonna be more interior volume is this gonna hurt anything its gonna be about closer to .8 cubic feet will that be okay im gonna have a high pass filter at 70 hz..... and i am going to put a little poly fill in the pod too..

i get the 70hz. The slope of the filter is how fast it cuts the sound off. A shallower slope of say 6 or 12db slope would mean you are playing more of the lower frequencies at higher volumes. The steeper slope 18 or 24 will cut out more of the lower frequencies and "better protect" your speakers. The filter is not a wall.

But realistically, build the enclosure to .8, you can always fill up the extra space if you need. Then set the filter afterwards, no one can really tell you definitively before hand how it will behave in the car.

Edit: If I were building pods for these 8s i would probably make them closer to .8 than .6 so i wouldn't sweat it :good:

but yeah about the tweeters. crescendo ft1 super tweets are sealed back tweets any way right???? so it sshouldnt matter if i mount them in the same air space as the mid right??

if the tweets are sealed back then yes, otherwise no.

For pics just upload them to some online photo sharing site. Then copy and past the urls in when you click the image insert thing. I use google+ from my gmail, I think you can use facebook too?
