Are you using the usb cable or an aux/headphone cable.

If you are using the usb cable do this;

Rip the dd-1 tracks to the highest quality your ipod will play. Use the cd in your h/u to find your max unclipped at 0db. then plug in the ipod and play the 0db tack that is on the ipod with your h/u at it's highest unclipped. if you have clipping try to turn down the h/u to see if it helps.

If you are using an Aux cable do the same as above but turn down the volume on the ipod.

Do ipods have e.q.'s or bass/treble controls?(i don;t own one) If so put them at flat when hooked to your h/u to make sure it's getting as clean as a signal as possible.

they do have basic ones, nothing too fancy, but are the tracks able to come off the CD? i guess idk, and would it work to just take them off the CD then put them on my iPod? lol i dont wanna hafta download a program to take the track/s offa the disk. i guess im basically just wondering if there's a big difference, since once you hook the iPod up via USB you have no control over the EQ or the volume on it.

You can rip the tracks with i-tunes or windows media player. Just try to use 320k CBR (constant bit rate) mp3 or equivalent. Those tracks aren't copyrighted or anything so it's fine. and your just making a copy of them to put on the ipod anyway. There shouldn't be any difference using the usb cable, but it doesn't hurt to check.
