    my DC power 280pro stopped charging, so now its the stocker till i can either get that fixed or buy a new alt. Might hafta rebuild the stock alt too...

    you will not be able to charge 14v batteries without using an external regulator (i havent heard of internally regulated alts that go much over 15v for very long) u would be better off with the D3400's if you do not want to get a new alt (or cannot get a new one)

    What happens if i hook up a 200 amp fuse to an amp that's supposed to have a 100-150 amp fuse rating? how bad can it get? (not running below the recommended impedence)

      you are not to fuse for the amp you are to fuse for the wire.

      lol Nate, u know i only have 1/0 :P and ok, i was just wondering, its a onlder style kicker zx1500.1, and it doesn't have an onboard fuse, so i figured it wouldnt be a bad idea to run a fuse for it, otherwisei have an extra 300 amp fuse laying around, its not a very long run of power/ground from my rear battery (overkilled the electric side for a DC 2k (which is no...

    well, how big would the space for the spiders that'll be used? would u make it a nice, straight down basket so there's about an 8" platform for the spiders to be mounted? im no sub designer either, but it might help with a bigger coil as an option?? instead of like the baskets on other subs? where its one size, then goes down to another size to mount the spiders (so ur not using like an 11.5" spider on twelves?

    played with the sub controls off the head unit....and nothing...anything from the 9886 that might maker a sub not give output??

    tried a 40 htz tone, had it going for like 12-15min straight full tilt (internal amp shut off) check both RCA's and both had a clean signal. checked with DMM and there was power going through to the ends (double checked using the DMM, used a DD-1 to make sure it was clean)

    hes getting voltage through the RCA's so i doubt its that. OP have you tried it in a totally seperate car? gonna try that tomorrow, me and Nate Futuristic are gonna hook it up in place of his AQ2200 to see if maybe it's something in my car.

    head unit is an Alpine CDA-9886, i checked everything, im not 100% sure how to check to see if maybe its sending it a signal but telling it not to play...and yeah, i know warrenty is non-transferrable, wasnt planning on lieing about it the power light turns on, so i assume that the remote wire is good and that the power and ground are good too.

    does it cost me anything? imma be honest, it doesn't have a warranty, it was purchased from someone else (the other person was the original owner) cuz i guess if it needs a new something, id like it to be a little beefier if it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg to do so.

    yeah, i switched it from master to slave while the tone was playing and there was nothing in either position. i turned the gain all the way up to test it, turned the LPF about half-way up, Sub sonic filter is all the way down.

    DMM to the amp to make sure that there was power going to it, and the power light is on, DMM and DD-1 the output at max volume at 40htz and zero output, DD-1 and DMM'd the RCA's and theres juice going through those.

    ok....put my DC 2k back into my car, and it dont work. There's signal going to the amp, 14+v going to it, no protect...just no output...it worked when i took it out of my car before. any suggestions?
