Giuseqpe Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 Hi! I'm about to buy a car stereo, but I'm not sure which sub(s) to run, I want 15", either one or two, I want to spend about 2000$ on one or two subs and an amp. I want some subs that plays loud, are good for music ( I'm not a competitor ), and I don't wanna deal with reconing and stuff. I've been looking at some subs; Psi platform 3, Crossfire Xs V2, AA Mayhem, AA Smd. Not quite sure which amp I will run, either Crescendo 3500 or 5500, I've been looking at the Soundstream 3400.1DTR too Thanks
Kevin M Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 What vehicle are we talking about? Do you have the big 3 done and an aftermarket alt and battery? A 3500 or 5500 will need it. Most people never worry about recones unless they are pushing their subs to the limit via a certain alignment or overpowering them. Some people run 2 or 3x the rms and still don't need to recone. Any of the subs you mentioned would kick ass on that power in the right enclosure. 2005 Ford Focus zx4 AMT's and Planars 18" Infinite baffle
Mr.JaunDurfle Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 If you go with a sub like the Mayhem I'd say the 5500 for an amp. 2001 VW Passat Sportwagen Alpine ICS-X7HD DC Audio 5K SSA 15" XCON Tantric Sounds 6.5HD's, Sundound Audio SA-6.5CS Incriminator Audio IA6.4 XS batteries, KnuKonceptz wirez, Second Skin
