dferet Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 I have a 2004 Nissan Maxima. I have 2 15" kicker CompVR the newest ones and was wondering is i should build a vented or sealed box? also if i should face the box towards the front or to the back, and the seats fold down if that helps.
Guest Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 ported. they like big boxes too. dont buy some bullshit box at the store or online. built yourself is best. dont fire forward unless you plan on sealing off around the entire box and all the holes in the rear deck, so that no air can get into the trunk. if you do choose to do that, you'll end up with better results. plus no trunk rattle if you do it perfect edit: quick google says that around like 4cuft per sub is ideal. hopefully you can fit like 10 cubes in your trunk.
Omega5002 Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 I've seen lots of builds with 2 15's ported in a Maxima, but from my experience, Kickers do like big boxes. Ported can sound better than sealed when you design and tune it correctly. I've seen 2 CVR15's in a 9 cu ft box tuned to 32hz on an APK1800 at 2 ohms in my friend's truck, and it sounded great. 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)
