Ladybridgeport
A guy at work recommends using a silicone ridged deadener mounted behind the woofer to prevent cancellation. What is it called and who makes them?

n8ball2013
I honestly am starting to think this guy has no idea what he is talking about. Is this in every install or a very specific install. Ladybridgeport
I think dynamat sells a small version for door speakers. It mounts on door panel to prevent resonance
n8ball2013
different usage. those are used to help create a sealed enclosure ina door or rear deck. say if its in a rear deck and you have woofers firing at a small 6x9 speaker the woofers are going to overpower the cone strength and cause issues. That will isolate the 6x9 etc so that doesnt happen. cancellation in subwoofer installs is not common. especially if they are on the same plain. If you are firigng directly at each other from a close distance you can get cancellation things like that. Ladybridgeport
My 18" soundstream subs are on the same plane each with own enclosure. The back is at n angle not 90 degrees. I may not get cancellation
n8ball2013
I highly doubt you will to be honest. that angled back would be doing the same purpose as hes suggesting anyways. and if you put it right behind the woofer would probably hinder your output anyways.
