mikelbolton
As promised, the rebuild began today... Thanks to SMZ2 for the second hand 6th order. Saved me some time and money... I just cut his old enclosure down to what I needed (base and 2 walls) and work from there. I started with this big hoss I then cut it down to a much more manageable size, so that I could put it on the clamp stands. I then cut down the length to what I needed, exposing the innards. A few more cuts and I'm almost where I need it. I then began stripping the Aveo... This should be the last time it looks like this. I got 1 layer of tape down for the fiberglassing. Then I decided to call it a night. More to come... Hopefully I'll get the bottom of the enclosure cut out with the router, and a few layers of glass down tomorrow. Then I can rip it out and start more intensive work... Looking to move my grounds, change a few things on the proposed enclosure, and hopefully have my wiring cleaned up a good bit with the new enclosure... 2011 Chevrolet Aveo(click for build log)Clarion NX-603SKAR 4500.1DIraggi 320A alt Knukonceptz 1/0 Kollosus Fleks Cable8 AWG Sky High Car Audio OFC 1/0- Sky High Car Audio 2- XP3000 XS Power BatteriesSMD VM-12- 12" Ascendant Audio Mayhems Toolmaker Fuse block Toolmaker Bus Bars (Last Season scores 1-15" Mayhem) 145.2 dB- Sealed @ NSPL World Finals (9/28/14) 148.1 dB- Hardcore @ NSPL World Finals (9/27/14) 150.23-- Hardcore on 4500 Watts!!!! mikelbolton
I got a few layers of glass done today. Sorry I don't have more pics, but here's one for now. Big shout out to Clint. Thanks for swinging by and giving me the tutorial, and helping me get this started. First time 'glassing, definitely a bit nervous at first. Seems easy enough so far though. More updates to follow. 2011 Chevrolet Aveo(click for build log)Clarion NX-603SKAR 4500.1DIraggi 320A alt Knukonceptz 1/0 Kollosus Fleks Cable8 AWG Sky High Car Audio OFC 1/0- Sky High Car Audio 2- XP3000 XS Power BatteriesSMD VM-12- 12" Ascendant Audio Mayhems Toolmaker Fuse block Toolmaker Bus Bars (Last Season scores 1-15" Mayhem) 145.2 dB- Sealed @ NSPL World Finals (9/28/14) 148.1 dB- Hardcore @ NSPL World Finals (9/27/14) 150.23-- Hardcore on 4500 Watts!!!! mikelbolton
Been a little slow with the updates, and very short on time. I have been trying to squeeze this rebuild in around many other ongoing projects, while getting ready for next Saturday's DB Drag. Here is a small update. This is the base of the enclosure. I was in process of laying out my lines, to open it up for the spare tire well. Here's a piece I was cutting down to make the straight piece of the spare tire well. The lines were for layout. 2011 Chevrolet Aveo(click for build log)Clarion NX-603SKAR 4500.1DIraggi 320A alt Knukonceptz 1/0 Kollosus Fleks Cable8 AWG Sky High Car Audio OFC 1/0- Sky High Car Audio 2- XP3000 XS Power BatteriesSMD VM-12- 12" Ascendant Audio Mayhems Toolmaker Fuse block Toolmaker Bus Bars (Last Season scores 1-15" Mayhem) 145.2 dB- Sealed @ NSPL World Finals (9/28/14) 148.1 dB- Hardcore @ NSPL World Finals (9/27/14) 150.23-- Hardcore on 4500 Watts!!!! mikelbolton
Ok, a mid-thirty update... Got the fleece stapled and sprayed in place. This is just to help me form the enclosure where there's a gap between base of enclosure and the spare tire well. 2011 Chevrolet Aveo(click for build log)Clarion NX-603SKAR 4500.1DIraggi 320A alt Knukonceptz 1/0 Kollosus Fleks Cable8 AWG Sky High Car Audio OFC 1/0- Sky High Car Audio 2- XP3000 XS Power BatteriesSMD VM-12- 12" Ascendant Audio Mayhems Toolmaker Fuse block Toolmaker Bus Bars (Last Season scores 1-15" Mayhem) 145.2 dB- Sealed @ NSPL World Finals (9/28/14) 148.1 dB- Hardcore @ NSPL World Finals (9/27/14) 150.23-- Hardcore on 4500 Watts!!!! mikelbolton
I spent all day Saturday in Raleigh... Spent a lot more money than I probably should have, but crap happens, right? I did manage to score a nice deal when I walked into Tiger Direct. They had a Thermaltake Level 10 Gaming case that had been returned by a customer sitting in their discount section. There was no price on it, but I asked the salesman what they were asking. They offered it to me at a price I couldn't refuse, so I picked it up. Spent some time Sunday afternoon swapping out cases. Here are the pics that ensued. Thermaltake Level 10 (new case) My old case Messy Cabling, no wire management whatsoever. Motherboard and power supply look comfy in their new case. I was able to hide almost all the wiring on the backside of the case. The P4 cable was too short to hide, and the IDE cable sits out front (has been changed for a black matching ASUS IDE cable). Sorry for crappy pics, but camera just has been getting worse and worse w/ quality. 2011 Chevrolet Aveo(click for build log)Clarion NX-603SKAR 4500.1DIraggi 320A alt Knukonceptz 1/0 Kollosus Fleks Cable8 AWG Sky High Car Audio OFC 1/0- Sky High Car Audio 2- XP3000 XS Power BatteriesSMD VM-12- 12" Ascendant Audio Mayhems Toolmaker Fuse block Toolmaker Bus Bars (Last Season scores 1-15" Mayhem) 145.2 dB- Sealed @ NSPL World Finals (9/28/14) 148.1 dB- Hardcore @ NSPL World Finals (9/27/14) 150.23-- Hardcore on 4500 Watts!!!!
