tmac93 Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 i currently have an 2007 dodge charger sxt with an 18'' ssa icon d2 running off an hifonics brz2100d(overkill i know) in an 6 cuft sealed box with sub facing up. Its like my car is a giant bass sponge!! i can barely get anything out of this system. the backseats down and still sounds muzzled and not loud at all. Does anyone with chargers have this problem?? idk what to do to make this sub louder? i dont have the room for ported, the box barely fits in the trunk as it is. ive never had this kinda problem before. ive herd 2 12'' hifonics brutus hit harder. this is the optimal sealed box size, for ported it says it has to be 6.25 cuft. could it be possible to add a 6'' aeroport? would the .25 of a cuft make a difference?
412 CVX Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 6 cubic foot sealed??? that's a HUGE box for sealed. Is your sub not moving much, or does it just sound like crap? Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid.
tmac93 Posted August 26, 2012 Author Report Posted August 26, 2012 moves like hell but once u shut the trunk and get in the seat its like its just not hitting as hard as its supposed to i get plenty of flex from very low songs, but its seems as its all flex no sound lol like i said ive owned lame 12''s that blow this away i just need to figure something out, i fell like i spent 300$ on this sub to sound like shit.
ds1919 Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 whts the specs? manily Qts. if these are like Qts of .3 or so, then you would prolly need ports. You could prolly use the 6cf size, but custom tune the ports to that box res freq. the trunk isnt totally sealed with metal all around is it? My bmw was like that, I had to cut holes in the rear deck and do some removal of material behind the back seat. Before it was dead as a door, then after cutting it slammed hard.
Stee-Z Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 if you have a 6ft3 sealed box ..you have room for a ported haha..thats a fuckin huge sealed box..my ported box for my 9515 DD is only 4.5ft3 (4)DD 9918's (2)DC 10k 8 6.5" focals 2 DD SS4 mid amps Audison Bit One processor Jl-cl-rlc line driver iPad in dash Dual Irragi 320a alts 8 batcaps 4000's Second Skin sound deadened
