Gonna have to say you're wrong about a V6 not being able to sound like a V8, I've heard decent V6's, but its been decided....I'll post a pic of the engine I'm looking at getting

Gonna have to say you don't really know much about engines. A V6 will always have a buzzing sound. If you want it to sound like a v8, buy a v8

Just curious as to why you'd choose the 4.6 over the new 5.0 or even the 5.4

the one i was looking at was bored over to a 5.0, but for simplicity sake, i wouldn't to stick with an engine that i could just drop in and bolt up with minimal mods. Although the new 5.0's are great, those crate engines have their own problems too, but nothing is ever perfect i guess.

Just so you know, the 4.6 will not bolt right up to your current tranny. You'd need a 289, an old school 5.0, a 351w, or an old 300 straight six. There are a couple of other small 6 cyl that will bolt up, but that would be a step backwards. If you're going to go with a 4.6, be prepared to swap the transmission as well. Look into a T56 or a TKO 600, both good solid Tremec trannys. (That's for a 4.6 swap)

Also, you might want to look into getting a new rear end, the 8.8 or 9 inch is going to be your best bet to stand up to the extra power. Some suspension work will also help keep it from riding like complete shit. See springs, shocks, anti-sways.

Also, your comment about the new 5.0's having problems, could you name some? I've never heard of anyone having a problem with one. They are just beastly motors if broken in properly.

I plan on swapping the tranny out for the 6 speed one that goes with that engine. Already planned on swapping out the rear end for 9 inch and get Eibach coil overs, but that's all in time. Let me go find the video I watched on the new 5.0's and I'll let you see what you think about it

Interesting video, haven't seen one of those torn apart before. Seems like a pretty solid motor (wouldn't expect anything less from good ol fomoco). As far as the casting goes, I don't see it being too big of an issue. It's not like anything is going to be brushing up against it when the motor is running anyway.

Good luck with the build, I've always wanted a mustang, but the redneck in me brought me towards the 4wd aspect of Ford haha!

Haha, don't get me wrong, I see an F-150 in my future! But that'll be going right along side the 'stang, not replacing it!
