afrakes Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 So I want more power to my speakers without spending more money. I have an 800 watt rms amp @ 2 ohms 2 channels lying around. I will be hooking up 2 sets of svc 4 ohm speakers to it. Now first of all, will this work? It does have a hi pass filter on it and everything. Second, should I wire series up to 8 ohms per pair so each set of speakers can only see 100 watts rms? Or should I wire down to 2 ohms final impedance and just turn the gains way down? Should be plenty loud if they're both actually getting 100 watts rms a peice....if they can handle it and don't blow that is. Lol well the front 6.5s are rated att 65 watts for the pair and the rear 6x9's are rated at 95 watts rms for the pair, kicker ks series coaxials.
