Amp in protect.

I picked up a Power Acoustik ov2-1600 knowing it was in a non working condition. I simply soldered in a new ground terminal and it was good to go. I tested this in my house using a power supply from an old desktop computer and an old test sub I had lying around. It actually performed quite well and got pretty loud. I decided to put it into one of my vehicles and got it all set up except for plugging the speaker wire in. Long story short my friend put the speaker wires in while I was up front finishing the HU, the sub was wired at 2 ohms and he bridged it to the amp. I didn't check his work, powered up played for a second, I went back there to tune it (after tuning HU) and as I was walking back there it cut off. Now it won't come out of protect. Is this because it was bridged to the amp while the speaker was at a 2 ohm load? I know the amp is 2 ohm stable but it wouldn't be in bridged mode, right? Not sure where to go from here..

Most likely if it's 2 ohm stable, that means it's only 4 ohm stable bridged....so the sub and/or amp is probably blown

Had a feeling. Sub is good, running it right now in my truck. (I have 3 vehicles..not sure why) thank you!
