Captain Stupid Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 Did you use mdf ? Lol....it would be easier if I just gave you the link to the build. The short answer is yes, 1.25" MDF. The long answer will be found in the link below... http://www.stevemead...deo-on-page-11/ Wow box looks amazing! the only reason i asked is because i dont know if i want to spend all that money on birch the first dual 18's box i build. in the future, yes i will as i better my skills. I dont have a table saw so its impossible to cut good cuts. so you used 1.25" mdf single layer ? The only issue i worry is that it will be so heavy the air ride suspension will have issues. . I've got air ride also with no prob. Box is probably somewhere around 200 pounds empty, which is like having a person or some tools on the back. If your truck can't handle that, it isn't a truck. As far as not having a table saw, that's easy. Your box will be so big that you could only use a table saw on a few of the cuts anyway unless you had a monster shop saw table. You can always make perfect cuts every time by placing a straight edge on your piece held down by two squeeze clamps and run a circular saw up against the straight edge. That is how I made all my cuts for my box, even the angled ones. I use an old 4' level as my straight edge, but you could use anything that you're sure is 100% straight, even a cutoff from the sheet of ply or MDF. 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ
