kevinsong Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 I need help with designing a ported subwoofer box for two sundown sa-12 4 ohm's. I have a skar sk-1500 amp powering them. The max dimensions for the box is Height- 22 in, Width- 42 in, Depth 13 in. The recommended settings is 4 ft^3 total and tuned at 35-37 hz. I need a round port. Thanks a lot!
Joe X Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 Here is a suggestion, vehicle model found in an older thread: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 35 Hz Vb = 4 ft^3 External Height = 21 in External Width = 36 in External Depth = 13 in Cut Sheet List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: Top & Bottom = 36 x 13 Left & Right Sides = 11 1/2 x 19 1/2 Front & Back = 36 x 19 1/2 Port Quantity and Dimensions: Number of Ports = 1 Pipe Port Diameter = 6 Pipe Port Length = 11 1/8 Assembly guide (generic dimensions): I would add that although a 6" flared aero can work a slot across the bottom could optimize port area of your box and may be a better alternative.
