burpleranger Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 Well, I did it today. Got a new pair of Hertz HSK 165's put in my doors. Only have 2 pics, in box and after install. Had to have a shop do it, no room in the parking lot at my apartment complex boo oh well, Aspen Sound in CDA, ID did a great job. I like the fact that you only see the tweets. Let me tell you, I squeeled like a little girl after I got the base line tune on em, lols.....first time to have quality speaks in my doors. These thing blow those tired worn out Alpines I had there before. And now, I have a little project to do for myself. so this is my old HU, and the craptastic vinyl wrap that I did, it looked great at first, then quickly went to poo due to the glue not setting up properly or something. Whatever. before: after: so, today picked up some parts and a new HU so, putting in 2 new switches to replace 2 old ones that I dont like anymore. (new ones will be "flushed" due to different style. Putting in the new HU. Then hopefully tomarrow I will actually wire everything in and start the tuning process Yippee!!!! will post as there are updates. Where does Burpleranger come from? My ranger is a 2004 Ford Ranger Edge, Sonic "Blue" In a certain light it looks purple, but then it also looks blue. lol Everyone's system is "the best" in "their own mind" (this includes me, even though i "know" its not)

burpleranger Posted September 16, 2012 Author Report Posted September 16, 2012 I agree. I've heard Focals, didn't really care for them, they are good, but I don't think quite as good as the Hertz. Other than focals, havent heard any other high end (ie: qualtiy) equipment before. All I know is that they are really nice for my setup. Well, back to work. Where does Burpleranger come from? burpleranger Posted September 16, 2012 Author Report Posted September 16, 2012 well the dash kit doesn't fit properly, go figure, none that I have put in have ever fit properly, so, plastic weld applied, will take a look at it tomorrow afternoon. lol I am getting much better at this weld stuff.
