Nate Dogg 51 Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 Hello, So its been a while since ive been on here, havent had a system in about 2 years. Anyway I went from my 02 tacoma to a 08 civic. Well I wanted to do things a little better this time so I got a stinger volt meter to check on my voltage(since the car is pretty small as well as the battery and alt). I was wondering do most of you plug the wires into the amp or run them to your battery. Right now mine are in the amp because I figured it would be more true, since it might drop in the 20ft between the battery and the amp. I just have some small speaker wire and remote wire running to it. On to my next topic, I bought an older zx750.1 the 06 version found it pretty cheap and its in nice condition. I thought it would be a pretty good match for the RE SEx12-4 that im wanting to get. Its probably around 800rms @ 2ohms but its old and my car doesnt have the best electrical so it should be enough for the sub. Anyway I guess I want to know if you guys think thats a good match for the sub. Im wiring it at 2 ohms since its not 1ohm stable, and getting the D4 version of the sub. 2nd I found this box pretty nice recessed and matched for the sub(cu ft and tuning wise). http://www.ebay.com/...=item45f670c078 . I'm in college right now and i dont exactly have the tools for box building and i dont think i could make one any better than this. Any help would be nice thanks. alaskanzx5 Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 i would like to point you in the direction of the smd vm-1 that should be released soon. its a realy nice quick responding volt meter, where the stinger volt meter will display a drop to 12.3 volts the vm-1 can show you it dropped to 11.4. the stinger volt meter takes x amount of time to display the voltage reading and during the time that it takes to display the voltage it could have dropped lower and the meter would never show it. the vm-1 however doesnt have a slow response to it becuase it doesnt use a digital display it uses a led that switches to different voltage readings at a much faster rate. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/143414-new-product-smd-vm-1-led-volt-meter-coming-late-summer-2012-video-vs-brand-xpage-12/page__st__240#entry2167260 t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
