OK. I am planning on one day giving my daughter my avalanche when she turns 16 as i cant afford to purchase her a new car...That leaves me 6 years to make this avalanche simply amazing..in every respect....

From exterior to interior.....I have updated my exhaust and have scheduled a new paint job in spring..the holidays and my girls bdays come first...ok on to the audio question.........sorry about the rant but i really want to get this right...

I am purchasing two (2) sundown SA 10 D2 subs and i am ordering a stealth box to replace my midgate.

I will be purchasing a Cresendo 1000 c4 Amp and a Cresendo to run the subs....

I am stuck on either the Rainbow or Morel or Sundown component Speaker which will be run by a Cresendo C1600.2 Amp.

I have looked into the Pioneer AVIC Z130 BT HU, or the Pioneer AVIC Z140 unit....but from what i read the response is slow...

Ive also looked into the Kenwood Excelon DNX 9990 HU but i think ive read the Blue tooth is pretty weak..

And the least expensive is the Clarion NX 702, ive heard mixed reviews on this HU as well.....

The sad part is non of these products are sold locally, i have to drive an hour and a half to find a decent shop and even then i do not know what im driving into as I will be driving to detroit to view and hear products...

I am leaning towards either the kenwood or the clarion at this point in time but i havent pulled the trigger on either choice as of yet....

With the products i have listed, which would sound the best, and are my amp choices suitable for the subwoofer ? I wish i could tell ya more about the enclosure i do not have the specs, im ordering it from Car Audio Factory

Ok first, cool to see that you want to give it to your girl. But my concern, does she want it like that? Sundown subs get down, even if it's just 1 in a big vehicle. Sure, you won't be blowing windows out but compared to stock? Be loud. So that's my concern about that.

As far as the head unit, why rush? Find something you like. I wanted a cd/dvd player, as well as one that could play my ipod/phone (have both). I got that. Response is slow, but otherwise it's pretty good. I was in a rush as I just wanted out of the factory stock crap. I sort've regret it but I also don't. Good unit, just slow. So if in the end, it's for her, why not wait until there's a unit you know you like? I'd hate to drive even 5 minutes just to see something and hate it. I'd wanna be 99% sold on it before I even put on my underwear to leave. 99.5% sold before the pants and shirt come on. 99.7% before the shoes. 99.9% before the keys are in hand. Lol.

As far as the amps... I don't know what you're second one was as you said "And a Crescendo". Crescendo what? Without looking at the specs or anything (my mistake), I can be 100% wrong on this, but I'd say that is WAY underpowering the subs. I'm not too familiar with Crescendo so it is my mistake on not even looking for specs on it but I would imagine you'd need something a bit bigger.

Crescendo's smallest monoblock is 2250@1 ohm.... That's gonna beat on those subs.

Thank you for posting your concerns, actually i was going to leave everything stock for her and she keeps saying that the sound sucks....which is why i thought of the upgrade....

theres so much more im doing to this vehicle most of which was her idea, im installing head rest units as well as a flip down up top..ps3 and xbox are also going to be installed....

unfortunately my 3 daughters live 8 hours away one way, and these items installed will help occupy them when i go and pick them up or drop them off....

She loves loud music as most 10 years olds do, she listens to everything which is why i wanted to improve the quality of the sound in my truck...admit it currently does suck...

I was planning on the subs being powered by the 1000c4 amp and the speakers leaning towards sundown component being powered by Cresendo C1600.2 amp...or the other way around. I admit im very new to this and do not know which amp to go with to get a qood quality sound that will power the subs and speakers.......

I have purchased the Cresendo 1000 c4 amp....i have not purchased the Cresendo C 1600 amp....now if the the 1000 C4 amp is not that powerful to run the subs i can go with a mono sub or some other Cresendo unit as long as im given the info i can go out and get it.....im just hoping the 1000 C4 amp is good enough to power the speakers if not the subs....

Im just looking for a little guidance on what would be good enough to power the subs and give a good crisp sound without it getting to sound all distorted at higher volumes....

you cant really run a 4 channel to 2 subs. the crescendo 2 channel you could, if you can bridge the amp at 2 ohms.

the reason for not waiting 5 or 6 years and do purchase the new system that will be modern then, is my daughters want to play ps 3 and watch dvd cds on their trips with me....I really hate the sound the stock unit puts out or lack their of...I may be 40 but i am not a stuffy old man...I still listen to rap, heavy metal and still go to concerts, think i always will.

once this truck is finally finished i will go out and get me a H3 and do upgrades on it and give it to my 7 year old when she turns 16....then i will get me a vette or something and give it to my 5 year old.

I really wish i could afford to buy all 3 a new vehicle as my father did for me and my brothers but i cant so i gotta do something that is spectacular and something that they know I did my best for them in every respect.....

Alright. I am not familiar with them and was at work, falling asleep, so didn't wanna look up the specs. Sucks when you up for 28+ hours! Wee.

yeah dont know that....in 30 hours last week i worked 25 hours, slept 4 hours and had an hour of travel time to get me home and back to work again oh and a stop at Micky D's.....so i do know how ya feel...I was bumping into stuff by the time i finished....
