GSanders17
I just recently purchased an older DD M3 amp and it is replacing a Sundown Saz-1500d. I am running one DD 3512 sc. The sundown was a good bit more impressive than this M3. Something doesn't seem right about that. Both were tuned with the dd-1 so I'm alittle lost on what is wrong. Nothing has changed with the setup so I was wondering what might be wrong. I was running a stock alt and kinetik hc 1400 with the sundown and same with the M3. I know I need to upgrade the alt and battery but thought the M3 would atleast be equivalent to the 1500 for time being.
fecupe2001
Trust me, the M3 it´s a badass amplifier, i´ve clamped over 3K from those things, yes your electrical is way to small for that amplifier and that might be one of the reasons you don´t see more power, remember, you need power to produce power!! Also, have you tried giving it a little bit more gain? sometimes o-scopes are like that, a little bit of clipping get you way louder.... I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. GSanders17
Thanks for the reply. I'm in the process now of getting an alt from DC Power inc for my Altima and will decide on what battery to use once I get the alt.
321slapinbass
i had the same problem when switching from my soundstream 1300 to my DD m2. i was like "why the hell is it quieter?" the only thing that helped was when using the dd-1 it tells you to turn the amps LPF frequency all the way up. well i just turned the LPF frequency up to where i like it, and then went through the normal dd-1 procedure. i think doing it this way should be fine because my amps clip light comes on at about the same time the dd-1 shows distortion. 2000 Dodge Durango Subs - (2) SKAR VVX 15 D2's Box - 7.2 ft^3 @ 33hz, 120 in of port Sub amp - Digital Designs M2 @ .5 ohm Mids + Highs - PRV Audio Mids + Highs amp - Hifonics 2000.4 Headunit - Alpine CDE-100 Equalizer - Clarion EQS746 Batteries - Mopar group 27 + (2) C&D 52ah Wiring - 1/0 BIG 3, (2) runs 1/0 Alternator - Singer 250A 147.79 dB @ 35hz - burp - sealed on dash 147.47 dB @ 35hz - music - sealed on dash YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/user/321slapinBass/videos
