StreetMetalBen Posted October 28, 2012 Author Report Posted October 28, 2012 maybe noise from it not sealing around the plexi maybe? There was a little bit of whistling from around the plexi, but it doesn't seem to be flexing.
StreetMetalBen Posted October 28, 2012 Author Report Posted October 28, 2012 This sounds similar to my box. I started out with those aero ports and decided to get rid of them and go to a rectangular port. Sounds way better. My box is also flexing and tearing itself apart. 2 12's on about 1000 watts. It's 3/4 Mdf and the outside has quite a bit of resin and body filler. If I were you, just use mat and resin to strengthen up that baffle. Maybe even some dowel bracing. That's what I'm looking at doing. Good luck man and keep us updated on what you do. I plan on Resining the inside before i fill it with the plastic mirror tape, and i think i will add a second layer to roof, because i have the room. and i will place a dowl or 2 in the sealed section as well.
StreetMetalBen Posted November 17, 2012 Author Report Posted November 17, 2012 OK so I filler the sealed portion with a bunch of pollyfill and WOW did it make a difference! Then I added a brace in between the 2 subs in the sealed portion, added a few more steal threads to it, and started to "finish" it up. Still need to add the MIrrors and LEDS, but that will come later.
StreetMetalBen Posted November 17, 2012 Author Report Posted November 17, 2012 The panels are now carpeted, just no pix yet. and all of the edges are all lined up/cleaned up
