so spent all of yesterday cutting the wood. after doing the first big couple cuts with the skill saw (table saw was too small)

ans then finally cutting a couple things with the table saw, i found that i could do better cuts with a skill saw then with a small table saw with a make shift wall thing or what ever you call them (the thing you slid the wood against)

cleaned up the garage and ready to go

WP_001823.jpg

then never really ended up using the table saw :P

getting the first cut set up!

WP_001824.jpg

WP_001825.jpg

talk about high tech cutting method....

WP_001826.jpg

and the first cut is done!

WP_001827.jpg

ok so for the first couple pieces i was using 2 tape measures and that cause for some discrepancies :/ so accidentally cut a couple pieces just a little short.

i had a hard time with this last time, having cuts like 1/8 or 1/16 off. does anyone else have the same problem? im just gonna deal with it later

here's the difference

WP_001834.jpg

these long cuts here my favorite......-_-

WP_001835.jpg

woods starting to stack up :P

WP_001837.jpg

this was the last long cut i had to do. and only 2 more pieces to cut and then get all the 45's done.

btw this was for the one of the tops/bottoms. you can faintly see the other line where it stops.

WP_001838.jpg

done with cutting all the pieces out! now just the 45's and the puzzle piece stuff.

WP_001839.jpg

i realize now i should have taken a picture of how i was doing the 45's cause it probably looked pretty funky. i had the 45 C-clamped to a board that was my guide and then the board was clamped to the side of the table saw lol but it was like 12:30 am and at that point i was just tired.

after a long 13 hours here's all the wood!!

WP_001841.jpg

even though i was tired couldn't resist putting the "puzzle piece" pieces together

WP_001842.jpg

finally glad to have it over with!!

let me know what you guys think!

Im SOOOOOOOO tuned in for this. Looks really good man.

Where did you get the seats.

Ive been looking for new seats for my ranger but i cant find them anywhere

thanks! i searched of craigslist for a while. eventually got them from a company that parts out wrecked cars and does a lot of posts on cl.

to be honest i wasn't happy with them when i got them -_- payed $200 for the pair and they just left them outside! glad i came to pick them up hours after they got to the store from the yard facility. and not to mention it was raining (gotta love washington)

here's what they looked like when i picked them up actually

WP_001157.jpg

this was the better of the two actually

and the thing that pissed me off was the guy assured me they were in great condition and were clean :/ then they just left them outside in the rain.

anyways i took them immediately to a local detailing place and the owner just had me tip the guys like $30 and they cleaned them right up!

Oh lord that seat was rough. They look good now though

what year of a ranger did the seats come out of?

Do you know which years will fit into a 2000?

quick visit to wiki and back and i know that between the 2nd gen and 3rd gen they retained the interior (mine's second: 1996) and the 2000 is 3rd. it does say that in 2004 they changed to bucket seats because of some law. though i'd guess they have the same bolt pattern.

long story short. if ya wanna play it safe. 1993-2004 but i'd bet you'd be fine from 1993-2012 honestly. (i doubt you do wanna go backwards but) one think i notice is that my new seats sit higher then the old ones.

hope this helps!

btw here's the wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Ranger_(North_America)
