lilone71742 Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 Any comments suggestions welcomed 2006 Chevy Trailblazer I have been thinking about a set up to do for sometime now and i think i have narrowed it down to one. I am looking at doing 2 DAD KMH 12's - Kicker 1200.1 amp (at least to start with) Re-doing the A-pillars to accomodate a dayton audio 3.5" and a 1" dome tweeter. 6 1/2 s in the door (component set) 5 1/4 in the rear door (component set) This may be over kill but 2 runs of 0 to the rear (maybe it'll be more beneficial as i change things). I am trying to find a good 4 channel amp to run all the mids and tweets (more to come on that) This will include upgraded electrical battery alt etc... So far this is where i am with the box design: I didnt list it but the port is 3 inches wide screenshot of Torres Calculator 2006 Chevy Trailblazer ~ KX 1200.1 ~ 2 Skar VVX 15" ~Big 3 upgrade ~ Pioneer AVH 4100 ~ 275 Amp Singer Alt ~ PRV 6.5 front doors~ 6000K Hids
lilone71742 Posted November 1, 2012 Author Report Posted November 1, 2012 no one has any input? I would appreciate any input on the box as I am preparing to build within the next 2 weeks. I am new to building boxes so i just want to know that all is well before i spend time and money building this box. 2006 Chevy Trailblazer ~ KX 1200.1 ~ 2 Skar VVX 15" ~Big 3 upgrade ~ Pioneer AVH 4100 ~ 275 Amp Singer Alt ~ PRV 6.5 front doors~ 6000K Hids
Joe X Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 Another possibility is subs up/port back which would get you louder most likely. BTW the specs for the box were given to you?
lilone71742 Posted November 2, 2012 Author Report Posted November 2, 2012 I had some help with the design. I initially was planning on doing subs/port back because i wanted to build a amp rack on top of the box, but im still playing around with that. Im not going for numbers just want something clean and that sounds good. If i didnt have a family i'd go with a bigger system but to do keeping room for trips etc i want to maximize what i have and have a good sounding system at the same time. 2006 Chevy Trailblazer ~ KX 1200.1 ~ 2 Skar VVX 15" ~Big 3 upgrade ~ Pioneer AVH 4100 ~ 275 Amp Singer Alt ~ PRV 6.5 front doors~ 6000K Hids
Joe X Posted November 2, 2012 Report Posted November 2, 2012 It looks ok if not driving well over rated power, I guess I would do the port in the center also but the one in the side can also work.
lilone71742 Posted November 2, 2012 Author Report Posted November 2, 2012 These subs have been known to do well over rated power. I think ill be good there. Ive always been a fan of subs on one side port on the other. Everything will be set with DD-1. I appreciate your input. 2006 Chevy Trailblazer ~ KX 1200.1 ~ 2 Skar VVX 15" ~Big 3 upgrade ~ Pioneer AVH 4100 ~ 275 Amp Singer Alt ~ PRV 6.5 front doors~ 6000K Hids
