revoracing247 Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 hey guys! tried to search on the forum for this but couldn't find the answer i was looking for. basically it's this. how does stuffing effect a t-line specifically? like i need numbers/equations so i can figure this out: i have a t-line i built for an 8" that's tuned to 53.5 Hz. that makes the line 63.1392in i wanna put stuffing in it so it's apparent length is 97.68in. is this possible? thanks guys! ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
STEvil Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 Attaching fill to the walls will help some but filling the t-line would be bad. You could do a quick test with a port extension and add fill on the walls if you need more. Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. revoracing247 Posted October 24, 2012 Author Report Posted October 24, 2012 i've seen some people trying to research and do test's on t-line and they fill 2/3 of the line though. but one side note is that at the lower frequencies the poly fill's fibers had hardly any movement. anyways, and actually using an equation he made saying to fill it 2/3 of the way i still can't get the actual length down to anything close of my current box. so it looks like i'd have to build a new one. ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
