littlehitter Posted November 2, 2012 Report Posted November 2, 2012 Ok, instead of my 4th order idea I think I'll start with a simple ported box. Port through my armrest, subs back in trunk. Going in a 98 toyota avalon. 2 RE SEx's with SR recones (possibly) eventually going to be on two APSM-1300's. Max dimensions are 18 tall, 38 wide, depth can be pretty much anything under 54. Link to sketchup pictures (cuz I'm to lazy to lower the resolution): http://imgur.com/a/QFNR6 The first 3 pictures are of a box with 3.84 cu.ft. volume, 36 sq. in. of port area with the interior port area being 18 sq. In. The port is 2 3x6 ports into a 6x6 outlet. It is tuned to 30 Hz. Am I correct in thinking that this is not enough port area? What do you guys think? The last two pictures are of a 4 cube box with a 6x10 port 9 inches long. I made this design using a tuning calculation that I found online because I was at work and couldn't use torres. With the calculation I found tuning to be ~33 Hz. Torres tells me that its a much higher tuning of 51 Hz. Which is correct? Would I have loading issues with either design? Any tips? Better ideas?
