  1. Jeez! More and more stuff to do all the time and always flawless work man. Tuned in for sure!
  2. I purchased an audiopipe 1800D from bassfreake. Communication was great the whole time, he even doublechecked and made sure I knew the amplifier was damaged before I paid. Shipping was fast and it was packaged securely. I would buy from him again and definitely recommend him as a seller. Super smooth transaction!
  3. price on a 5k to 53184? We'll see what my girlfriend has to say lol
  4. I wish it wasnt a 3 hour drive to get there! otherwise i would be down
  5. Sorry, I'm new to most of this. What is CACO?
  6. I'm looking for an amplifier that will be 1 ohm stable and push somewhere between 1200 and 2000 watts. It'll be used to power two RE SE-x 12" subs. I don't care if the outside is in perfect condition or is all messed up (scratches, missing logo pieces, ect.) As long as it is in perfect working condition. PM me the price shipped to 53184
  7. I know the bottom one is standard. lol I listen to everything, but with a system I mostly listen to rap or dubstep. What kind of tuning should I shoot for porting it through the rear deck?
  8. Thanks for the replies. I'll take some time to look these ideas over and see what'll work best for my car. They all look pretty interesting, it'll be hard to choose just one. I'm really digging both of the 4th order boxes and the bottom one. Edit: Alright. 4th order ported through the deck it is. Need to get the measurements to design it, who would you guys suggest to have help me? No audio shops around me here in central southern Wisconsin so I'm pretty much on my own using you guys for help lol
  9. They are the GRS 6PR-8 6.5" Polycone/rubber surround speakers. I just don't know how I should put them in the door. I want to use the original placement but there is nothing to anchor to unless i fiberglass something or make it out of mdf... Basically right now they're just free-air speakers so the sound is very "shallow".
  10. Lmao. They may only get 10W but the one I have mocked up is a helluva lot louder then the 5.25. What about running 2 to get a 4 ohm load like my HU recommends? Even with all the way down and loudness off the old speakers sound like straight garbage. They were good for a while but as with everything more is better.
  11. Yea, I realize that the infinity's suck. I didn't realize that when I dropped $100 on them. And I don't know much, that's why I'm asking. My HU doesn't have many options for adjusting anything. So until I upgrade it I don't have many options. Is there something else I could do? I mean shit, I got the 6.5's so I'll put them in, but could I do a HPF of some sort to cut out the lower frequency's of the music? oh, and could I just take out the plastic oem enclosure and use a piece of mdf to mount the 6.5?
  12. I have 2 12" RE SEX's soon to be running on a SA-1200d or SA1500d. Whichever I can save money for lol. But i need a box in my trunk for the subs. I was thinking about doing one sub in a box on each side of the trunk behind the wheel well at first. But now I'm thinking I should them in a box towards the front of the trunk and use the back seat arm rest as a port opening, or the stock 8" woofer in the back deck for a port. Is there any advantage to using my wheel wells instead of doing a standard box? I feel like firing the subs towards each other will be way quieter than firing back... I know i need measurements for the design, but its hot as hell today and I don't feel like getting my lazy ass outside. Current Sealed Box Shitty Pic of the wheel area I was thinking about. There is one of these on both sides of my trunk. Where the port could come through the back seat 8" in the back deck under the grill which could be a port Other side of the back deck
  13. Replaced my original 40W Max 4 Ohm 5" door speakers with some Infinity Reference 4022i 5.25" speakers before I knew anything about speakers. The infinity's sound like shit, they definitely cannot handle the power that my HU puts out. So I picked up some $8 6.5" speakers off partsexpress. The stock speakers were in a plastic ported enclosure that sits inside of the door. I'm thinking about 2 of the 6.5"s in each door to get back to a 4 ohm load on my hu, but I don't know how to do it. Any tips or ideas would really help because this is my first time doing anything new to doors. Let me know what kind of info would help to figure this out. New speakers are on the left,(GRS 6.5" 8 Ohm 85RMS) old on the right. What I'm working with now. The 6.5 has some 3 inch screw just holding it up to the old enclosure. Only the magnet fits inside lol. Interior panel ( Just the 6.5 will be installed, Ignore the 5.25)
  14. Home from work! Time for some pictures! If it is an amplifier/equalizer it would still be fun to get hooked up and working. I'm kinda disappointed in my 5.25" Infinity Reference speakers in my doors. I figured they would be better sounding and handle more. With the HU at flat with no loudness or boost they sound like shit. but that's for another post. I'm wondering if I would be able to just cut the blue plug off and splice wires from my HU into the ends. Front of the 3214 Blue Round Plug White Rectangular Plug Information sticker BTW: Thanks for the responses guys!
  15. Digging around in my fathers garage I found this old EQ. I was thinking about buying a new one, but I figured I would try this one first if I can get some help figuring it out. It's an Alpine 3214 7-Band Graphic Equalizer. I realize that I won't be able to run my RCA's through it, but my cheap JVC HU only has a rear/sub out, which i'm not worried about running through the EQ. My speakers sound like shit because the HU puts too much bass into them so this EQ should help right? On to the problem: I have no idea how to hook it up. My phone won't let me upload pictures, Ill try tomorrow. It has a blue connector that says ALPINE on it. Its round and has 7 holes for pins in a circle, one slot, and a hole in the middle. There is a rectangular white connector coming out of the other side with 8 pins and a separate black wire. The colors on the 8 wires are yellow, orange, purple, white, grey, red, blue, and green. Any advice would be much appreciated! I'll let you guys know how it turns out and I'll upload pics of it tomorrow. ~~Luke
  16. I knew a guy in need of some money and selling his system. I paid $125 for both woofers, and $35 for the sealed box. I have been saving money to upgrade and the right deal came along at the right time, so i jumped on it. So far I'm pretty pleased. Considering I paid more for the shitty X-Plod sub I had before this was an amazing deal. lol
  17. Ok, So I got the subs. Threw them in a sealed box. They sound decent with my amp. But when I get the money I plan on building a ported box. But I realized I have enough space to throw them in the back deck of my car. How do you think these would do in that infinite baffle set up? Would the subs be able to handle it or would the lack of pressure hurt the subs?
  18. Oh, and I figured SPL applied to any amount of sound pressure... Not just an excessive amount. but W/E. To each is own I guess
  19. Haha. Well I guess you guys got me. I'm just looking for some boom. Will this be a viable set up? As soon as I come into some more money I'll be back for more advice on what to do, but in my situation I don't have many choices. Thanks tho
  20. I meant I am looking for SPL, not SQL. And only reason I say that is because I have read that SeX's are better for SQL. I understand that the amp is not going to fully utilize the sub's, but its what I have for now, and I plan on upgrading further in the future. I am buying two, because they are being sold as a package for $125. Both brand new. I know its not going to be perfect, but i'm really going for more bang for my buck. Thanks for the input though.
  21. So I am planning on upgrading my system a little bit. Currently I am running a 1300W Sony Xplod subwoofer, a 1200W Pioneer Amp, and a cheap-o Walmart box. I plan on using the same amplifier, but I am going to purchase 2 RE audio SeX 12" subwoofers. I am wondering what kind of box would work well for this set up. And if this is even going to be a decent system. I'm not too worried about SQL but i am looking for more SQL. The only reason that I will be purchasing the SeX's is they are a steal at the price I can get them for. If I get any feedback, I might try and document what I've done, and am going to do to the system. Thanks for the input!
