Like Kranny said, don't play full tilt at idle. That's really low voltage for that amp at 2ohms

Where is your amp grounded? This could be an issue as well

to the rear strut tower. the 11.4 was on my buddy's bass boosted song. when i play decaf, and have been all day, i havent seen it drop under 12.2.....

lol i guarantee that your buddy does not know how to boost songs correctly. guaran-fucking-tee that the song is clipping hard if decaf only drops you to low 12's. low 12's like that is still bad though.

if you sanded all the paint/primer off to the point where the metal is shiny, then your ground is good.

i'll say it again though but dont slam full tilt at idle with a stock alt. its stupid and you put more stress on your equipment.
