Andrew Sunshine Janowitz Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 Im kinda new to this sight, did not know where else to post this, i have recently gotten into car audio, i recently was given a stinger volt meter from a friend as a gift, i brought it down to one of our local electronics store and had them hook it up to a 12v volt tester and set the meter to 12v. then we double checked and it was all set. i got home and wired it up, positive to my battery, negative to the head unit and remote to the head unit, the meter is ready 14.4v on my stock electrical of a 95 civic ex. so my question is why is it this high? it does not seem right to be that high stock. any help would be appreciated!
TylerParrish Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 Nope, sounds about right. Unless you mean it says at 14.4 V when you have a decent system on and playing, then that'd be a different story What the f**k is an appropriate signature supposed to look like?2013 Kia Forte Koup Pioneer AVH-X4600BT iDMax 12 DD M1c @ 2 ohms Rockford Prime 200.2 Pioneer 6.75" Comp Set XS S3400, D2700 Project DB Battery Terminals Axxess ASWC Stinger HPM Everywhereeee 90 Sq. BobbyG2 Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 Make sure it's hooked up to the B+ on your amp! *New vehicle and system coming soon.*
Jessica Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 plus, it should be reading 14.4v with the car running. Not off. That is horrible man!!! That will kill your amp, I would do the big 3 to help that and replace your stock battery with something better What are you running?
Guest Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 i think it has a 70 amp alt stock. x2 on what equipment you're running. 11.4 is pretty low voltage. anything under like mid 12's i'd start to worry. hope you aren't playing full tilt while idling. doing that with stock alts is stupid, imo.

What amp are you running? Either way I'd try to upgrade the stock battery upfront, and if that doesn't help, add another one, even just a small one in the back.
