Im kinda new to this sight, did not know where else to post this, i have recently gotten into car audio, i recently was given a stinger volt meter from a friend as a gift, i brought it down to one of our local electronics store and had them hook it up to a 12v volt tester and set the meter to 12v. then we double checked and it was all set. i got home and wired it up, positive to my battery, negative to the head unit and remote to the head unit, the meter is ready 14.4v on my stock electrical of a 95 civic ex. so my question is why is it this high? it does not seem right to be that high stock. any help would be appreciated!

Nope, sounds about right. Unless you mean it says at 14.4 V when you have a decent system on and playing, then that'd be a different story

Make sure it's hooked up to the B+ on your amp!

when the bass hits at decent volume its dropped to 11.4 on some songs,

11.4? That is horrible man!!! That will kill your amp, I would do the big 3 to help that and replace your stock battery with something better

What are you running?

i think it has a 70 amp alt stock.

x2 on what equipment you're running.

11.4 is pretty low voltage. anything under like mid 12's i'd start to worry. hope you aren't playing full tilt while idling. doing that with stock alts is stupid, imo.

Well I would do the Big 3, even if you didn't have a system. What amp are you running? Either way I'd try to upgrade the stock battery upfront, and if that doesn't help, add another one, even just a small one in the back.

Is that at idle, or while driving?
