Dual 2s on amp

Ok here is the situation. I have 2 sundown sa 12s that are dual voice coil 2 ohm subs. I have an American bass ph1600.1 and I need to get at least 400 watts to each sub off of that amp. It is just temporary I know the rms of the subs is higher. The problem is the amps rms is 800 at 1 ohm and the amp is only one ohm stable bridged. So I can't wire the subs to 1 ohm each and run it to each channel. And if I wire them in series at 2 ohms it will only be getting 200 per sub. So can I wire each sub to 1ohm and double up the positive and negatives in the bridge channel?

if you did that you would be bridging at .5 ohm. do not do that!!!

That's what I though. If I keep the wire separate in the terminals would it work? If not what do you suggest

no. if they are connected to the same terminal it will still bridge it to .5 ohm.

I think I am just going to wire one sub in the box because it is a split box with 2 ports so for now I will use 1 sa12 at 1ohm on 800 watts and then soon get a 1500 watt amp

thats a great idea!!! look for an amp that can run at .5ohm. then you will start kicking.

try DC audio Sundown Audio DD audio Skar Audio Audioque. any of those brands can do .5 ohm on their mono amps.

or an old school soundtream 10.0 like mine, they are 1/4 ohm stable

Haha I will and I have a question. When I ran one sub at one ohm and I turned the gain way up it started making kind if a buzzing sound. I had an fi that did it but much louder and it was blown but I think it's because the amp was putting out as much as it could and its not a great amp so it may have been sending a clip or something. Do you think it is blown or it is just the junky amp? I just ran both subs at 2ohm to the bridge channel so they are only getting 200w a piece until I get my new amp.

Lanzar Opti line (only good line from Lanzar) offer´s 0.5 Ohm stability. Picked the cheapest offer but there are manufactor refurbished.

when you turn the gains up to the point of distortion.....that buzzing noise you hear is pure distortion....all speakers do is make the signal the they receive from the amplifier audible
