T.A.G. Audio Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 will the sundown sae 1200.1 run 1ohm to each channel? Or will it only do it at 1ohm bridged. The reason I need to know is because I have a sundown sa12 dual 2s and I need to know if I can add another one down the road and wire them both to 1ohm and run them to each channel to make 600 a piece. My plan now is to just run one sa at 1ohm bridged with the gain half way up. And also is the Sae a good quality amp? I know it's not an saz but is it still good? 03 Ford f150 2 Sa8 v2s Ap 1800d... BobbyG2 Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 SAE 1200.1? Do you mean SAE 1200D? It's a 1 channel amp, so no bridging required. You might think that it's bridgeable because it has two sets of speaker outputs. That's just for ease of wiring. Yes, it is 1 ohm stable. I have one, it's a beast. I wouldn't recommend running it at .5 ohms, though. I hear they don't like very low resistances. But, you can try it if you have good electrical. This is the amp you mean, right? http://www.sundownaudio.com/index.php/products/discontinued/item/sae-1200d-v1.html *New vehicle and system coming soon.*
T.A.G. Audio Posted November 13, 2012 Author Report Posted November 13, 2012 So can I run two sa12s dual 2s each wired at 1ohm to each terminal? 03 Ford f150 2 Sa8 v2s Ap 1800d... BobbyG2 Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 The terminals are wired parallel to each other. You'll still be running it at 0.5 ohms even if you use different terminals. Beef up your electrical if you're planning to run it at 0.5 ohms. I'd suggest a second battery close to the amp. Use 1/0 cable for lower resistance. *New vehicle and system coming soon.*
T.A.G. Audio Posted November 13, 2012 Author Report Posted November 13, 2012 O I see is there any way to wire them to make them each get 600 watts without running it at .5 ohms 03 Ford f150 2 Sa8 v2s Ap 1800d... BobbyG2 Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Not unless you sent them in to be reconed into D4's Here's what I mean by they don't like low resistance, this test was done at 0.5 ohms and it blew the fuses (Although it did make an impressive amount of power!) http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/50753-sundown-amp-clamp-tests/ *New vehicle and system coming soon.*
