I will be installing the components up front tomorrow depending on when my Damplifier arrives, probably only temporarily installing my crossovers until I decide how I want to place all my amps in the finished build. Last time I just put them all under my box (put skids on the box so they would fit) and it was nice and clean. I don't have much room in the back after the box so it's tough, I will never put my stuff ON a sub box unless it's the back of a wall.

Good call not putting stuff on the box. I hate doing that. You should be able to easily hide them behind/under the dash, or a panel in the rear. From what I remember there was a lot of room up there (at least in my jimmy.)

You crimping or soldering? I used almost identical ones on a friends install...to make soldering easier I drilled a hole through the top to insert the solder....I have seen a few techniques that include clamping the terminals upside down and filiing them with the molten solder then "dipping" the wire into the terminal and letting it cool...but something doesn't sit right with me having the wire cold like that then dipping it in.

I like to drill the hole then solder until you see it wick out into the wire from the bottom a little..so you know it a good connection...then just shrink wrap appropriatley.

Just a suggestion. You seem much more knowledgeable then me but i thought I would just throw it out there.

With these types of lugs I like to cut the wire a little short, flux up the inside of the lug, throw a buncha cut solder in the lug and heat it upside down then insert the wire. Seems to work well enough.

Little progress, ran new RCAs and mounted the LC-1. The midbass drivers don't fit in the doors, they hit the window track. Spacers and kicks are out of the question so I'm going to poke about for some new midranges. That is an RCA in the vent you see, and it has been righted.

Deadened both front doors today and put my old speakers in. Gonna sell the ID comps and see if I can replace them with something as good or better that will fit in my stock locations.

I'm working faster than I thought. Have to order some more clips to deaden the rear doors now, the front stage sound is now much improved and I have more than half of my deadener left over. Will definitely make it to the hatch area without a re-order. That beer seriously was good. Was.
